DISCOVER HIDDEN NATURE
Surrounded by idyllic nature and picturesque landscapes, the original heathland stretches to the east of the picturesque town. To the west, on the other hand, the endless expanse of the species-rich Wadden Sea and the landmark of the island of Sylt, the Red Cliff. It once served as an orientation point for the sailors due to the unique coloring of the clay gravel and limonite sandstone. Today, the Red Cliff is among the most imposing landmarks on the island of Sylt. Whether endlessly long beach walks with a dreamlike scenery or unique sunsets, cozy in the beach chair, this place invites you to linger. Especially in the evening light, the cliff shines in its bold colors, creating a fascinating natural spectacle.
Another spectacular view is the Kampen Uwe-Düne, the highest natural elevation on Sylt, above the Red Cliff. In the middle of Kampen, you can get a panoramic view of the island from the dune, which is up to 52 m high, and in good weather you can even see as far as the northern and eastern tip of Sylt.
